• Question: What did your parents think when you became a scientist and were they against it?

      My parents were and still are pretty cool folks. Always used to say …do what will make you happy- and we will support you. so when i chose this arena, all I got was unstinted support.That was always fantastic and helped me a lot

      My parents just wanted me to be happy doing something I enjoy. They have always been 100% supportive in my career decisions. They trust that they brought me up well enough not to do something crazy!

      My mum and dad were really proud and still tell me that. I think they were a bit puzzled when I applied for university though as I was more into art and music before, but they just wanted me to be happy.
