• Question: To what extent do you think wearable/smart technology will influence medical healthcare?

      There’s a huge market for it. It will allow people to monitor conditions and understand what works for them in terms of health. It will also save a lot of time for GPs and nurses at out patient clinics, and it will be more convenient for the majority of patients (I would imagine).

      Conditions wearable/smart technology could help include diabetes, heart conditions, back pain, breast health, asthma.

      (I’ll try to come back to this one to add more info when I have a proper computer – doing this on my phone on the way home isn’t as good.)

      Yes it will. But the technology needs to get better first. Wearing a watch that tells you how many steps you’ve taken is no good to a doctor. I think in the future we will have smart pills that release drugs in the correct area of the body once injected/swallowed. Maybe even an implant that goes in your arm and emails your medical information to the doctor and maybe it could even email him if it sees something is going wrong ….even before you start to feel sick !
