• Question: How is weather formed? (How is it that winds come along from somewhere, is it caused by something in space?)

Wind is caused by the difference in pressure from one point on the Earth’s surface to another. Air moving from an area of higher pressure to an area of lower pressure is called wind.

The air doesn’t move directly from the point of highest pressure to the point of lowest pressure. The Earth’s rotation affects air flow by deflecting it to the right.
