• Question: Have you been affected by someone having diabetes which encouraged you to study diabete

      I’m not sure a definite event involving someone I know led me to do research in the diabetes field. I kind of fell into it. I was always interested in neuroscience and the
      PhD I undertook had a neuroscience element in relation to diabetes.

      I did have a school friend who became type 1 diabetic while I was at junior school so I was very aware of the condition but it didn’t inspire me to work in the field.
