Question: Do you ever think there will be a drug that can cure diabetes??

  People with type 1 diabetes require daily injections of insulin as their body has destroyed the cells that make it. There is research into making artificial pancreas’ to replace the damaged one but no drug will cure type 1 diabetes.
  
  For type 2 diabetes, I am not sure that a drug could ‘cure’ it. Only treat it. The development of type 2 diabetes is quite complex and not fully understood. The best way is to reduce your risk of developing it in the first place. You can do this by eating a healthy diet and taking exercise so that you do not become obese. The majority of people with type 2 diabetes (about 80% are also obese).
